Welcome to the NYC Students Blog!

Her you will find a collection of stories, articles, and anecdotes about students' experiences in New York City schools. Issues and problems should be raised freely and shared with the community so that they are brought to the public eye and addressed by the NYC Student Union as well as by the Dept. of Education. This is a forum for student communication through writing about both positive and negative aspects of the NYC public school system.

Links to some notable posts:

Ashu Kapoor, a Queens small school student, on the high graduation rates of the new small schools.

Ben Shanahan on Contracts for Excellence.

Hasanur Rahman on Opportunity NYC (sometimes called "Cash for Kids".)

Laura Johnson on NYC winning the Broad Prize: "Are they looking at the same NYC Public School system as I am?"

Seth Pearce gives a students perspective on the Khalil Gibran International Academy Controversy.
